What is a QR Code?

QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional barcode that can be read quickly by a phone camera. It makes it easy to share links, text, contacts, phone numbers, emails, WiFi information, and more. It was created in 1994 by the Japanese company Denso Wave and became widely popular for its ease of use.

Supported QR Code types

  • URL: Links to websites and web pages.
  • WhatsApp: Direct links to WhatsApp conversations.
  • Email: Email addresses with optional subject and body.
  • Phone: Phone numbers for direct calling.
  • SMS: Pre-formatted text messages.
  • WiFi: WiFi network credentials for quick connection.
  • Text: Any free text or information.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR Code expire?

No. The QR Code itself does not expire. It keeps working as long as the content it points to exists and is accessible. For example, if the QR Code points to a URL, it will work as long as the link is active.

Can I generate a QR Code for WhatsApp?

Yes. Use the "WhatsApp" template or manually enter a link in the format https://wa.me/5511999999999 (replace with the number including country and area codes).

Do I need to install an app to read the generated QR Code?

On most modern phones (iOS and Android), the camera already reads QR Codes automatically. Otherwise, you can use free QR Code reader apps available in app stores.
